   During your first visit to the clinic, you will have pre-operative panoramic x-ray scans and an examination by your dentist to finalize your predetermined treatment. 5. Step: Journey Home

1. Endostreal implants: They are placed in the jawbone. Endosteal implants are the most commonly used type of dental implant. These implants can be surgically placed directly into the jawbone and are completed with a crown or bridge after the recovery period is over. They have the capacity to support single backup teeth or multiple teeth as a bridge.
2. Subperiosteal implants: They are placed under the gum on the jawbone. They offer an alternative for patients who have a receding chin and do not want bone augmentation. Once the implant is placed, it is covered with a crown to create the appearance of a natural tooth and for natural closure and chewing. Subperiosteal implants are an alternative option for patients with inadequate jawbone height or mass to support endosteal implants. Subperiosteal implants are less common than endosteal implants and are typically recommended when bone grafting or other procedures are not feasible options.
3. Zygomatic implants: It is preferred in cases where there is severe bone loss in the upper jaw and implant placement is not possible. Unlike other implants, zygomatic implants are not fixed to the jawbone but to the cheekbone called zygoma.
    

1. First Consultation and Evaluation

• You can send your diagnostic tests such as X-rays, CT scans, and impressions of your teeth and jaws taken within the last 3 months and your dental photos to your medical consultant through online consultation.
• After discussing and evaluating the treatment process, potential risks, benefits and alternatives, your dentist will prepare a treatment plan for you.

2. Treatment Planning

• Your medical consultant will inform you of the number of implants required in your customized treatment plan, their position, and, if necessary, detailed information on further procedures such as bone grafting or sinus augmentation.
• How many days the treatment will last and the necessary follow-up periods are detailed in your treatment plan.

3. Implant Placement

• On the day of the implant surgery, your oral surgeon may administer local anesthesia or sedation.
• An incision is made in the gum tissue to expose the lower jawbone in the location where the implant will be placed.
• A small hole is carefully made in the bone through the incision.
• The dental implant, usually a titanium post, is placed in a hole in the bone.
• The gum tissue is closed and the implant is placed below the gum line.

4. Osseointegration

• After the operation is completed, the recovery process begins. In the process of osseointegration, bone cells gradually adapt the large and healthy implant to the jawbone.
• Your surgeon may provide a temporary crown or recovery cap during this period to protect the implant and address aesthetic concerns.

5. Abutment Placement

• Osseointegration varies from patient to patient, it takes 3-6 months to complete and the final step of the implant is planned.
• The gum tissue is reopened to place an abutment on the implant.
• The abutment acts as a bridge between the implant and the crown.

6. Crown Placement 

• After the gums around the abutment have recovered, your doctor will take impressions of your teeth.
• After the tooth color, size and shape are chosen together with the doctor, your crowns are custom-made for you.
• When the crowns are prepared, they are placed on the abutment and the ease of the patient's mouth closing is tested.

7. Follow-Up and Care

• After you return home, your medical consultant will check you on scheduled dates.
• Following the instructions given after implant treatment plays a very important role in the durability of your dental implant.
   

The Recovery Process of Dental Implants

• Immediately After the Procedure (1-3 Days)

  Rest and Relaxation: Give priority to rest in the immediate aftermath. You may feel discomfort for the first few days after the implants but this is normal as part of the procedure. The discomfort will disappear in the first few weeks. 

  Cold Compress: Apply cold compresses periodically for the first 24 hours to relieve possible swelling. This small movement increases your comfort and helps in the early stages of recovery.
   

• First Couple of Weeks

  Diet: In the first few weeks, follow a soft food diet. This not only ensures a smoother transition for your new smile, but also minimizes stress on the implants and supports a more comfortable recovery.

  Oral Hygiene: Follow a gentle oral hygiene routine. Use a soft-bristled toothbrush and a non-abrasive toothpaste, taking care of the dentures and the area around them. Your dentist may recommend a water flosser. It is very important to follow your dentist's hygiene instructions.
